Who we are
GoFilm is a cinema listings service: the website at gofilm.uk and the GoFilm UK app for iPhone (together, "GoFilm"). It is run by GoFilm UK. These terms apply whenever you use either. If you don't agree with them, please don't use GoFilm.
What GoFilm does
GoFilm shows what's on at cinemas across the UK and Ireland, with film information and links to book. The listings are collected from public sources: cinema websites, booking systems and public data services.
We are not a cinema and we don't sell tickets. GoFilm isn't affiliated with any cinema or chain. When you follow a booking link you leave GoFilm, and you book with the cinema on its own system and under its own terms. We are not part of that transaction.
Listings can be wrong
Cinemas change their programmes, sometimes at short notice, and our sources are occasionally wrong or late. We work to keep GoFilm accurate. Even so, we can't promise that any time, certificate, rating, runtime or other detail is correct, complete or current. Please check with the cinema before you travel. The website shows when its listings were last updated at the foot of every page.
Using the website
You don't need an account to use gofilm.uk. It sets no cookies, and you can use it without giving us anything. Our privacy notice explains the little it does record.
Your app account
In the app you can use GoFilm as a guest, without signing in, or as a member, signed in with Apple or by email. Membership keeps your watchlist, saved cinemas, alerts and preferences across devices.
You're responsible for keeping the email address on your account one you control, and for what happens through your account. You can delete your account at any time on the Account screen. Deletion is permanent.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- use GoFilm to break the law or infringe anyone's rights;
- try to get into other people's accounts;
- scrape, harvest or systematically copy GoFilm's listings or other data, whether by program or by hand at scale (GoFilm is for people going to the cinema, not for resale);
- probe, scan or test GoFilm for vulnerabilities without our written permission (if you think you've found one, please tell us at the address below);
- put an unreasonable load on GoFilm, or interfere with its working;
- reverse-engineer the app beyond what UK law allows.
We may block access, or suspend or close an app account, if these terms are broken.
Other people's content and services
- Film information and posters come from The Movie Database (TMDB). GoFilm uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Posters, titles, artwork and trailers belong to their rights holders. We show them so you can find films to see.
- Postcode districts. The website's postcode search contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right; Royal Mail data © Royal Mail copyright and database right; source: Office for National Statistics, licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
- Links out. Booking links, maps (Google Maps, Apple Maps) and trailers (YouTube) take you to services we don't run. Their own terms and privacy policies apply there.
If you believe something on GoFilm infringes your rights, contact legal@gofilm.uk.
Our content
GoFilm's name, logo, design, app and code are ours. The selection and arrangement of the listings is also ours. You're welcome to use GoFilm for your own cinema-going, and to share links to any page.
Availability
GoFilm is provided as it is. We'll try to keep it running, but we don't promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or suitable for any particular purpose. We may change or withdraw any part of it.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss or inconvenience that comes from using GoFilm or relying on its listings. That includes travel costs, missed screenings and problems with a booking made with a cinema. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes
If we change these terms materially, we'll update the date at the top. We'll also tell app members by email before the change takes effect. If you carry on using GoFilm after that, the new terms apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring proceedings in the courts where you live.
